Gary Palmer – Head of Centre

Gary took over the helm at Cobnor in January 2013. He has worked in the outdoor education industry for nearly 20 years. His experience covers many disciplines, including instructing in sailing, paddling, powerboating, climbing and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award training. Gary’s two passions are the outdoors and travelling. 

 

Liz Wilson – Office Manager

Liz has run the office at Cobnor Activities Centre for over 20 years. She is a Practising State Registered Nurse and also sits as a magistrate. She has lived with her ever-growing family in the village of Chidham for many years and is a Governor of Chidham School. Liz is a keen cyclist, both in the UK and overseas.

Miranda Powley – Operations Manager

Miranda grew up in Bosham, dinghy sailing in Chichester harbour. Following a management career in the retail and IT industries, she joined Liz in managing the office at Cobnor 2011.  Prior to returning to Bosham in 2003, Miranda lived and worked in Dorking, where she was a school governor at a primary school.

Grant Worle – Site Coordinator

Grant’s many years of experience running a caravan site has proved an invaluable addition to the Cobnor team. Grant is willing to turn his hand to anything from checking the electrics to changing the sheets. Grant is kept busy at home with a young toddler, who sets the rules of the household. 

Alex Evans - Activities Technician 

Alex re-located to this area from Shropshire, having worked for seven years at an activities centre in Kidderminster. Alex has extensive paddling and climbing experience, including spending time in Nepal. He worked for one year at Cobnor as an Activities Instructor before extending his responsibilities this year and is now splitting his time between maintenance and activities. 

 

Ryan Breach - Senior Activities Instructor 

An experienced Senior RYA Dinghy Instructor and Powerboat instructor Ryan’s passion is sailing and racing and has helped the Trust increase its offerings in these areas. 

Nick Peacock -Activities Instructor 

 

A keen paddler Nick is an all-rounder who is qualified for climbing, paddling, archery and now sailing as he’s recently succeeded in getting his RYA Dinghy Instructors. Nick can be found in his spare time traversing the country looking for new spots to Kayak.

 

Liam Hussey - Activities Instructor 

With a keen eye and steady hand Liam is the resident Archery guru. Having worked with us since 2016 he is now a permanent member of staff and continues to bring his enthusiasm and sense of fun to the Trust. 

Elizabeth Storton - Office Administrator 

Elizabeth also grew up sailing and spending her time on and in the waters of Chichester Harbour. After a few stints working abroad she is settled back in Bosham with her two young children, and occasionally her Naval husband.
